Philosophy & Background

Corsini Stark Architects was established in 1999 and is committed to architectural practice at the highest level: responsive to cultural and physical context, sensitive to historical and environmental resources, and attuned to the collaboration necessary for complex endeavors. Corsini Stark Architects strives to seamlessly integrate building and site, form and space, light and material, style and use.

Corsini Stark Architects is a small full-service firm with experience in joint ventures and design/executive architect relationships, giving clients the best of both worlds: the small office advantage of principal involvement in all aspects of a project, and large office capacity for project delivery.

Principals Richard Corsini, AIA, and Anthony Stark, RA, have cumulatively over thirty-two years of independent professional practice. Their experience includes urban design, master planning, office and mixed-use projects, college and university facilities, multi-family housing, retail stores and entertainment complexes, restaurants, commercial interiors, and distinguished custom homes.

The firm has developed a reputation for skillfully combining new construction with historic buildings and districts, and integrating architectural and landscape design to achieve distinctive environments. Principal involvement in each phase of work is the cornerstone of the firm’s philosophy of quality control and client service. CSA excels in composing and leading outstanding teams of professionals, working with preservationists, sustainability consultants, and other disciplines specifically tailored for each project.

Mr. Corsini was born in Los Angeles and received his Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University and his Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona. His work has been published nationally and internationally, and he has lectured and curated exhibitions on contemporary design. He has held faculty appointments at schools of architecture including Cal Poly Pomona, Woodbury University, and most recently, the University of Southern California.

Mr. Stark was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and received his Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in 1982. He was project architect for the Jerde Partnership for numerous major retail and mixed use projects before establishing his own firm in 1990.

Recent firm recognition includes design awards from the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Conservancy, City of Beverly Hills Architectural Commission, Los Angeles Business Council, and the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute.
